This is what I'm thinking about.
Here's the "opportunity". We have a multimedia/webmastering lab that is
half Mac G3s and half Compaqs (shudder) -- I get to support this.
I want students to be able to save their work on the server and retrieve it
whether or not they are on the Macs or PCs and be able to edit their work
no matter which platform they started on. I'd rather not do it as FTP, but
just drop and drag if possible. I'd also like it to be somewhat user
transparent.
Samba seems to be fine on the PCs. The great fun on the Macs is I know
enough to be dangerous on them.
As an other opportunity, I want them to be able to publish their web
mastering projects using either Front Page or html tags. I'm not really
worried about this much, as I ran an apache server under OS/2.
