[NTLUG:Discuss] CDWriter Query

I just got this cdwriter with an IDE connection and it seems that
cdrecord only speaks SCSI .....is there another way to do 1:1 data
copies , I just dont have the drive space to dd an intermediate image onto my hardrive.
