Weird - I've seen a *bunch* of complaints about 3D hardware
accelleration not working under Mandrake 8.0 on the lists of
several 3D games (four questions today alone on the TuxRacer
list - to pick just one)...and at work (where we do flight
simulator graphics and *live* 3D), we've been installing SuSE
7.1 (over the top of SuSE 7.0 admittedly) without problems.

Well, as usual with distro's it's a matter of taste (and luck!).
