[NTLUG:Discuss] Printer setup?

I am a rookie LINUX user, trying to get my printer setup and I am not
having any success.  Here is the setup: Caldera 2.2 (the price was
right) and a Epson Stylus Color 600 printer on parallel port 1.

When as root I chose COAS/Peripherals/Printer I get a popup that says:

Printer Configuration

Printer Daemon
Configure the printer connected to your computer or network.

------------------------------------
OK                           CANCEL

I can click and select a field, but it does not take any input, not that
I know what needs to be input.  Clicking OK or CANCEL and it just goes
away.

If I use lisa, everything looks like it is being set up; port, printer,
even resolution, and when I print from WordPerfect the job shows up in
the queue, but I get what looks like raw postscript on the printer.

What else do I need to do?
