Wayne,

My install (Mandrake 8.2) has /usr/lib/libImlib.so.1 as a link to
/usr/lib/libImlib.so.1.9.13. Check if this may just be a missed link.

Find where your samba-common is (which CD) and try running

   rpm -Uv --all --replacepkgs /path/samba-common.....

Kpackage is a KDE app isn't it? Does RH build a RH specific KDE
application menu and maybe left it out on purpose? Mandrake uses this
approach to include their apps but they do include Kpackage. I assume
that you can get a copy of Kpackage from the KDE site or maybe rpmfind.net

Good luck.
