Howdy,
   There were no intermediate versions.  They have a standard rule that 
when major libraries change, then the major version number of RedHat 
changes.  I think it was glibc that changed this time.  (Although they 
slipped out the new library to 8.0 users wth up2date a little early and 
broke stuff)  I downloaded it, but I am waiting for Ximian to support 
RedHat 9.0 with Red Carpet and mono before I upgrade my RedHat 
machines.  The reviews I have read all say it is better that 8.0 and I have 
not seen any begatives yet.  Let me know what you think if you try it.
