This is where I disagree with you, Chris.  I don't think this article is 
typical of a non-Linux user nor a person who has never used a computer 
before.  This article is typical of a Windows User who has, 
unfortunately, learned that you need to do certain procedure/steps 
(almost like a religious rite) to make their machine work, a Windows 
User who can't understand that not all computers work the same way, a 
Windows User who thinks Windows is how we measure computer performance, 
a Windows User who doesn't understand that a computer can run much 
longer than a week without a reboot, and a Windows User who has 
swallowed MS' propaganda and thinks everything should work like MS 
because MS said so.

If there is any self-examination that should be done, it should be us 
Linux Users failure to get more potential users to understand that a 
computer can be very reliable, and have better and easier applications.  
It would help if us Linux Users would just demonstrate Linux Systems to 
the world than just paying lip service.
