I don't disagree that RTFM gets annoying - but it is usually a pretty 
fine manual.  I see a lot more of it on usenet than I do on mailing 
lists.  IME, on usenet a lot of the questions actually can be answered 
with RTFM, if only the asker would do so.

I've yet to see someone either here or on usenet pose a detailed 
question (when I do x, y occurs, every time) along with relevant error 
messages and get 'RTFM' as a solution.  At that point, it's pretty 
apparent they already read the manual.
