It's worse than that.

As a consultant, the author's client is the COMPANY that hired him.
His duty is to that company and its shareholders, not to the
individuals that may, like him, happen at the moment to be employed by
that company.

The author has just stated that he would not recommend a Linux
solution because it might promote off-shore outsourcing. He will do
something more costly to the company, which is paying him for honest
advice, based on the dishonest consideration of the potential
downstream impact to him personally.

I expect Microsoft reps to recommend only MS solutions. My Ford
dealer will not tell me how wonderful a Toyota might be. But this
author rents himself out as an independent consultant. He takes money
for offering an independent opinion, then fails to actually provide
one.

This man is a just like the corporate executives at Andersen, Enron
and Worldcom, who ripped off their companies and shareholders to
enrich themselves. The executives, like the author/consultant,
undertook a duty to the companies that employed them, then placed
their own personal interest ahead of the duty they voluntarily
assumed. Only the amount of money is different.
