[NTLUG:Discuss] Disappearing messages in KMail

Ok... so I now have an entirely different install and verion of Slackware. 
(9.1 instead of 8.1)  but my problem remains the same.

For SOME stinkin reason, KMAIL will randomly decide that I don't need to see 
any of the mail in my inbox if it is past two days old.   I can NOT figure 
out what setting is doing this.  I've searched for filters -- none.  I've 
turned off all automatic EVERYTHING.  My messages just disappear!  The only 
way for me to see my messages is to either use the sqwebmail client or to 
erase my IMAP account in KMAIL and recreate it.  Then my messages will be 
back for a bit...until KMAIL once again decides that I don't need to see 
those older mail messages anymore.

I have to say,  this linux crap is GREAT for servers...but I'm beginning to 
wonder about workstation functionality. 

I've tried googling, searching on the KDE.ORG site..  I found one google hit 
that described my problem EXACTLY.....only it was MY post back in February!   
I don't even know what to search for anymore or who else to ask.
