Chris,
  Tat is interesting.  I have set up 4 2.6 kernel systems so far.  Two
are SuSE 9.1(a Compaq iPaq, which is i810, and a 3Com server, which is
SIS 620 based).  Two are Mandrake 10(a K6-2/300 and a Dell GX-150, which
is i815E based.)  So, all are basically low end systems.  I have been
happy with all of them.  It sounds like I need to try a faster system
and see how it does.
