[NTLUG:Discuss] DVD player

I finally got a DVD drive for my latitude cpi laptop... it was seen and loaded aok.  Fedora Core 2, BTW.

I rpm --installed the rpms for the ogle player, but it "sorta" loads, and when I try to run /mnt/cdrom/VIDEO-TS (I think)/any subfile, the player terminates abruptly.

1) I don't have a /dev/dvd or anything like that.  Just /mnt/cdrom.  I think THAT is a big part of the problem.  Remedy?

2) Are there any conf files / settings I need to alter?  The Norwegian source / home for the Ogle player (supposed to be well-regarded, per Google) indicated this, but if you were building / compiling.

So. where do I go?
