Howdy,
I just don't see where anyone has set things up for SuSE to add package
repositories to the built in ones. They do it for Debian, RedHat,
Mandrake and I am sure there are others.
If your goal is to install MPlayer on SuSE 9.2, it is pretty easy. Go
to
 http://packman.links2linux.org/?action=128

which is the packman page for MPlayer. Download the RPM and the
dependencies listed at the bottom. It seems to me that there was one
dependency I had to go and find, but the whole process took less than
half an hour.
I have setup VLC under Mandrake, but not SuSE, so I can't comment on
how easy that one will go.
Good luck,
Ralph
