[NTLUG:Discuss] Sempron vs Celeron on Linux

AMD claims that it's 1.6GHz Sempron runs slightly to significantly 
faster than Intel's 2.8GHz Celeron, basing it's claim on Winstone and 
Sysmark ICC.  I don't know if these are MS Windows oriented or not and 
was wondering if anyone had any confirming or denying information to 
provide.  I'm obviously not going for peak performance but would like to 
get the most for my money.  BogoMIPs reports pretty much a linear 
relation to raw CPU MHz but that's why it's prefixed with Bogo...
