I'll start off by saying that I'm not an Intel fan (and will never, never,
never buy a Socket 775 with it's 'may look good on paper, but is horrible
in reality' fan attachment mechanism)....but I'm an energy guy.  I
find this website a good way to really start promoting energy savings (and
by doing so, promote Linux):
