Howdy,
  Gnomemeeting is old.  Look at its new incarnation, Ekiga.  I use it
for a SIP phone.  I was on a conference call to the HOPE conference for
several hours with it last weekend.  It is supposed to do
video-conferencing, but I have not tried that yet.  If you want to
experiment with it, I could run one side of a test conference and we
could try it.  I am curious about that, myself.  I am just using the
default install of Ekiga on Ubuntu 8.04.
 What do you mean by a 10' interface?  Do you want one that looks good
on a 10' screen? Or is it a metaphor for something that doesn't require
a lot of close twiddling to get it to work?
 What do you think of Openfiler?  I use FreeNAS and it works well.  I
want to try Openfiler, but have not done so yet.
